Public Health NurseWork Monday - Friday with holidays off and join Manitowoc County's team as a Public Health Nurse. This position provides population focused community-oriented nursing care based on the core functions of public health and:Performs surveillance, investigation, prevention and control of communicable and chronic diseases.Identifies population groups, families and individuals at high risk of illness, injury, disability, or premature death.Provides leadership for community health improvement activities.Addresses community health needs by collecting, reviewing and assessing data to determine service and program needs.Develops intervention strategies aimed at promoting healthy environmental, social, and economic conditions for all populations.Collaborates with public and private organizations to address community health needs.Evaluates effectiveness of public health programs and interventions.Hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PMA public health nurse, in addition to being licensed as a registered nurse under Ch. 441, Stats., must have one of the following:A bachelor's degree from a nursing program approved by the board of nursing under s. 441.01 (3), Stats. and Ch. N 1, or accredited by the national professional nursing education accrediting organization. The program shall include preparation in public health nursing or community health nursing.A master's degree from a nursing program accredited by the national professional nursing education accrediting organization.
