Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Creates, develops, and implements an internal communication strategy; manages an external communications plan; maintains activity on social media accounts.
- Develops and maintains relationships with news, media, editors, reporters, other communication officers and agency staff.
- Leads media management including social media, promotion and marketing efforts, and community outreach.
- Works with the Agency's executive team to create and implement strategies to community the Director's priorities for the agency.
- Provides a high level of administrative support to the Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
One year experience as an executive assistant handling complex and confidential information.
Six months of experience in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Canva.
Six months of experience of independent and effective oral and written communication to specific audiences, colleagues, and community partners.
Six months of experience coordinating, planning, and engaging in public events, community, and agency events.

- Personal Leave- new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).
- Annual Leave ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.
- Sick Leave fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.
- Parental Leave up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
- Holidays State employees also celebrate at least twelve (12) holiday per year.
- Pension State employees earn credits towards a retirement pension.
