Job Description and Duties

The Sacramento Communications Center is a public safety answering point.
Employees answer 9-1-1, public, allied agency telephone lines as well as making outgoing calls to service providers, allied agencies and citizens.
PSD's provide radio dispatching services to seven CHP offices.
PSD's must document information in a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System accurately, quickly and take the appropriate action on each call.
Employees work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
They are required to work overtime as needed.
They must consistently report to work on time with a minimum of absences.

Benefits

The Sacramento Communications Center dispatch employees receive an additional $300.
00 recruitment and retention monthly pay differential.
Part-time and intermittent employees shall receive a pro rata share of the monthly differential based on the total number of hours worked within the monthly pay period.


Public Safety Dispatchers/Operators are members of Bargaining Unit 7 and are eligible for excellent medical, dental and vision benefits as well as a great state retirement with additional options of 401K/457 plans.
