Public Works Supervisor
The Village of Ridge Farm is seeking applicants for a Public Works Supervisor
Salary starting salary can be up to $21, negotiated by the board and depends on experience level and training needs, with the opportunity for advancement and income growth with additional paid training and a performance review at 90 days.
Benefits include clothing allowance, health insurance stipend, vacation, sick time, the ability to earn comp time, and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund membership.
The Public Works Supervisor reports directly to the water sewer/operator, president, and board of Trustees. This is a full-time position.
Requirements and general duties include but are not limited to the following:
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a team environment. Be
community-minded, always keeping the best interests and needs of the citizens of Ridge Farm in mind. This includes being available for after-hours emergency repairs and calls as needed, as well as monitoring and testing during overflow heavy rain events, and providing input on the yearly budget.
Knowledge of heavy equipment, general mechanical, and construction skills.
Street Department fixing potholes, snow plowing, driving dump trucks, etc.
Water Department reading and changing meters, fixing water leaks, flushing hydrants, and completing all IEPA required testing and reporting.
Sewer Department working in and around raw sewage and wastewater, clearing sewage blockages, checking lift stations, maintaining manholes, and will be responsible for all reporting and testing required by IEPA.
