Purchasing - Inventory Manager Apply
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Parts Department Manager to lead inventory, purchasing, and parts operations for a heavy-duty engine machining facility. This role supports engine builds for CAT, Cummins, Detroit, and similar platforms while managing a profitable and organized parts department.
Key Responsibilities✔ Manage inventory levels, cycle counts, and warehouse organization
✔ Source parts, negotiate pricing, and resolve backorders
✔ Support machinists and customers with accurate part identification
✔ Coordinate with shop leadership to align parts with build schedules
✔ Manage margins, core returns, and warranty credits
✔ Supervise parts counter and shipping/receiving staff
Qualifications5+ years heavy-duty parts experience (truck, construction, or ag)
2+ years in a supervisory or management role
Strong knowledge of diesel & natural gas engine components
Experience with ERP/DMS systems & electronic parts catalogs
Forklift experience and ability to lift 50–75 lbs
