Purchasing AnalystThe role of Purchasing Analyst at Kalmbach Feeds is an engaging position that allows an individual to have a real impact on the company's bottom line. The position will require interface between Nutrition, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Production. The role will require supply chain management but the individual will have the unique opportunity of identifying new suppliers, new sources, and new ingredients based upon nutritional needs and opportunities that arise. The person in this role will coordinate all purchasing functions including purchase order processing, forecasting, delivery arrangements and price updates. Managing and maintaining supplier relationships and responding to customers' needs will be essential tasks. The successfully contributing team member in this role will utilize their pleasant disposition, and strong attention to detail daily. As unique situations present themselves, the successful candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals, team member goodwill and company reputation.Primary Responsibilities:Planning and Forecasting ingredient and raw material needsAnalyze stock usage and lead times to set minimum and maximum stocking levelsSupport procurement and nutrition in the sourcing of new product suppliers and originsComplete market and competitor research and analysisScheduling deliveries and monitoring receipts to catch and address late loadsManaging inventories to avoid outages and plant downtimePursuing freight savings by creating competition and finding new haulersFilling customer orders by coordinating direct ship loadsUnique supply chain problem solvingSystem building and implementation of new standards or protocolsThe Right Candidate:Reliable with strong work ethic and positive dispositionStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsOutstanding time management skillsExemplary verbal and written communication skillsThrives in fast-paced work environmentProficient in windows-based software programsAbout the Company:Kalmbach Feeds offers the highest quality nutritional products for livestock, poultry, and companion animals.
