Our client seeks an experienced Purchasing Buyer to optimize supplier costs while ensuring quality and operational efficiency. This on-site role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and driving measurable cost reductions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute cost-saving procurement strategies.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
• Source and procure a wide range of materials, including:
  • Electrical components (panels, switches, breakers, etc.)
  • Machined parts (sheet metal, CNC machined components, etc.)
  • General industrial automation hardware
• Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
• Interpret technical drawings to meet production and engineering needs.
• Lead sourcing activities, including RFQs and supplier selection.
• Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and implement best practices in procurement
• Stay up to date with market trends, supplier innovations, and new technologies to ensure optimal sourcing decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve supply chain challenges and enhance overall efficiency.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in procurement or supply chain, ideally in industrial/manufacturing.
• Experience as an engineer or technical professional.
• Familiarity with electrical components, machined parts, and industrial automation hardware.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• ERP systems, procurement tools, and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proven track record of achieving measurable cost savings in procurement.
