Purchasing Buyer Electronic Manufacturing Apply
Our client seeks an experienced Purchasing Buyer to optimize supplier costs while ensuring quality and operational efficiency. This on-site role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and driving measurable cost reductions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute cost-saving procurement strategies.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Source and procure a wide range of materials, including:
- Electrical components (panels, switches, breakers, etc.)
- Machined parts (sheet metal, CNC machined components, etc.)
- General industrial automation hardware
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Interpret technical drawings to meet production and engineering needs.
- Lead sourcing activities, including RFQs and supplier selection.
- Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and implement best practices in procurement
- Stay up to date with market trends, supplier innovations, and new technologies to ensure optimal sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve supply chain challenges and enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in procurement or supply chain, ideally in industrial/manufacturing.
- Experience as an engineer or technical professional.
- Familiarity with electrical components, machined parts, and industrial automation hardware.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- ERP systems, procurement tools, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proven track record of achieving measurable cost savings in procurement.

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 annually, plus performance-based bonus
