In this role as Purchasing Manager you will join a growing aerospace manufacturing team. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, components, and outside processing services necessary for production and the development of new projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the supply chain remains efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's high standards for quality and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace supply chain management, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to vendor management and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet production and business needs Manage vendor selection, negotiation, contract development, and supplier performance Support New Product Introduction by working directly with Engineering, including quote material providers and outside processing providers to support new projects Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure purchased components meet technical specifications and quality standards Evaluate and mitigate supply chain risks, including supply disruptions and cost fluctuations Maintain compliance with all industry standards and regulations (AS9100, ITAR, customer specific requirements) Track and report key performance metrics related to supplier performance, quality, cost savings, commodity pricing trends and inflation Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers and partners Support and introduce continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement and supply chain functions Supervisory Responsibilities Manage staff of three buyers in all phases of purchase of material and services.
