Purchasing Procurement Analyst Apply
Role and Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, utilizing independent judgment and initiative.
- Coordinate the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services per established guidelines, regulations, policies, and laws. Prepare, review, and expedite purchase orders, quotes, proposals, and agreements to ensure policy compliance.
- Generate reports and maintain records for all goods ordered and received.
- Assist in maintaining the procurement database, coordinating purchases with departments and vendors, monitoring vendor performance, addressing issues with defective goods/services, and building key vendor relationships.
- Administer purchasing policies per Office of Information Technology requirements and regulatory guidelines, assisting with staff training on procurement practices.
- Develop and expand professional knowledge of the procurement field, including familiarity with the Georgia Procurement Manual (GPM) and related regulations. Maintain awareness of potential legal issues.
- Obtain/maintain the Georgia Certified Purchasing Associate (GCPA) certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the procurement team.
Skills and Qualifications
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on tasks requiring follow-up and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, PeopleSoft 9.0, and Team GA Marketplace e-Procurement.
- Skilled in electronic data record-keeping and reporting.
- Strong reading comprehension, evaluation skills, and effective written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
