Role Overview Inferno Systems is hiring a mid‑level Python Developer with TS/SCI clearance and full scope polygraph. This full‑time role is based in Chantilly, Virginia. The advertised compensation range is $175,000 to $275,000. Job Description We are seeking a proactive and self‑motivated Python developer who can work through all phases of the software development lifecycle on an operational‑facing platform that supports penetration testers, data scientists, and network defenders. The platform is a cross‑domain solution (CDS) that is critical to ongoing operations and highly visible to users and managers. Your main responsibilities will include modernizing the existing CDS, gathering system requirements, proposing technical solutions, creating flow diagrams and system architecture documentation, writing Python code to implement those designs, developing test cases, implementing a CI/CD pipeline, and participating in code reviews. You must be able to adapt to shifting operational requirements, timelines, and priorities while collaborating in a tight‑knit team environment. You are expected to write strong, peer‑reviewed code, provide code reviews for others, interface directly with customers and users, and participate in all stages of the development lifecycle to drive the customer's mission forward. Required Skills 5+ years of experience designing and writing software, including test case creation and comprehensive documentation. Proficiency in developing within a Linux environment. Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and implementations. Ability to develop rapid prototypes for evolving operational needs. Self‑starter who can integrate with a diverse team, lead the creative process, and engage multiple stakeholders in creative approaches. Familiarity with the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of fully‑functional web sites and web applications. Familiarity with the certification and accreditation process and testing. Research, analysis, prioritization, problem‑solving, and multitasking with minimal supervision. High attention to detail for all tasks. Adaptability to dynamic and challenging team environments. Capability to perform ad‑hoc duties. Desired Skills Experience with Yubico / Yubikey products and implementations. Experience reading and understanding Perl. Experience with C/C++ and/or Java. Experience with web applications such as Apache and/or Nginx. Experience with data flows. Experience sanitizing and web‑based properties and design elements. Familiarity with cloud services and tool capabilities. Experience with web site and application security measures and practices. Experience with security accreditation and testing. Security Clearance TS/SCI clearance with full scope polygraph is required. Applicants must have an active and current clearance.
