Purpose of the Role:
1. Support of the QA effort for Yotis Web applications.
2. Advance the quality of Yotis web applications by functional and non functional testing and following best practices for manual quality assurance.
Requirements
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Support of Yotis web applications QA effort:
- Solid understanding of QA and the various testing procedures and approaches for different phases of the SDLC.
- Experience of testing iOS and Android mobile applications.
- Solid experience of testing web based applications.
- Enjoys hands on manual testing as well as testing in an automated fashion.
- Strong proven experience in analysing requirements from user stories to create test scripts in a Gherkin (Given/When/Then) format.
- Ability to create test plans and cases from fast-paced evolving projects.
- Good understanding of common metrics collected by QA and ability to analyse metrics in order to determine where testing would be most effective.
- Great written communication, ability to create written test artifacts with clear unambiguous detail.
- Knowledge of accessibility testing and an understanding of the WCAG levels.
- Ability to recognise areas for improvement and propose solutions.
- Adept at building a proof of concept from an idea to practice.
- Can work in a team or autonomously by leading the QA effort for a project.
- Ability to mentor junior team members.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical peers.
- Strong passion for quality, reliability, best practices and continuous improvement.
- Confidence to stand for the good QA practices, as being the expert in the domain
- Flexibility to manage testing of multiple products; with the possibility of working on one website one week and another the next.
- Quick learner; to be able to understand and pick up a new product or technology quickly.
2. Ad Hoc Expertise
- A good understanding of the different types of testing conducted by quality assurance engineers in Yoti
- Exposure to automation, accessibility, client side performance and security testing
- Extensive knowledge of Yoti products
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Excellent understanding of the SDLC and how Quality Assurance fits into this.
- Professional Experience in Quality Assurance (7+ Years)
- Extensive knowledge of the Yoti products
- Experience of conducting quality assurance on various different platforms, including: web based, backend systems, mobile web, iOS and Android platforms
- A good understanding of the different types of testing required for various phases of a project and the testing techniques used at Yoti.
- Champions change when change is for the right reason i.e. to improve efficiency
- Curiosity: Quality Assurance meetups/conferences, trying new concepts, new approaches
- Strong passion for quality, reliability, best practices and continuous improvement.
- Good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical peers
- Experience in non functional testing, such as accessibility, security and performance testing.
