Job Description

Quality Assurance Manager
Shape the Future of Food Quality in a Leadership Role reporting to the President.

Are you a quality leader who’s passionate about delivering safe, delicious, and innovative food products? Our client, a fast-growing and dynamic food manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to take ownership of the plant’s quality and food safety programs. This is a chance to step into an influential role where you’ll lead a talented team, collaborate directly with production leadership, and ensure that every product meets the highest standards for customers and regulatory agencies alike.

If you thrive in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment where your decisions directly impact product quality and customer trust, this could be your ideal next step.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Make a Real Impact: Lead initiatives that directly influence product safety, quality, and brand reputation.
  • Autonomy & Ownership: Manage quality systems and programs your way—your expertise will drive decisions.
  • Lead & Inspire: Build, mentor, and grow a QA team that supports a high-volume, fast-paced production facility.
  • Be the Expert: Serve as the go-to authority for audits, customer relations, and regulatory compliance, including BRC certification.
  • Drive Innovation: Continuously improve processes, implement best practices, and help bring high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable products to market.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor the QA team, ensuring accuracy and excellence in all quality documentation, testing, and reporting.
  • Oversee all food safety programs, including HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, sanitation, and pest control.
  • Maintain BRC certification standards, ensuring audit readiness throughout the year and successfully leading BRC audits.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for customers, regulatory agencies, and auditors—addressing specifications, quality inquiries, and documentation needs.
  • Manage quality testing for all products, including microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory evaluations.
  • Investigate quality issues and customer concerns, driving corrective and preventive actions to improve processes.
  • Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the plant.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 5+ years in Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, sanitation programs, and regulatory compliance.
  • BRC Expertise: Proven experience leading and passing BRC audits, with the ability to maintain all program elements year-round.
  • Leadership Skills: A coach and motivator who can lead teams while collaborating across departments.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong organizational skills for managing documentation and data.
