Job Description
Plexos Group LLC is seeking a qualified QA/QC Coordinator to support the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program. The QA/QC Coordinator is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control functions within the New Mexico Home Recovery Program (HRP), which provides housing rehabilitation, reconstruction, and new construction for eligible households affected by 2024 natural disasters in New Mexico.
This position ensures that all HRP activities, applicant files, and data management processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements. The QA/QC Coordinator develops and implements review protocols, conducts detailed audits, and works with program staff to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance.
Location: Candidates must be local to the State of New Mexico or be willing to deploy 75% of the time (6 weeks on, 2 weeks off) to New Mexico.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of applicant files, program documentation, and case management system records to ensure accuracy and compliance with HUD CDBG-DR regulations.
· Develop, implement, and maintain standardized QA/QC procedures, tools, and checklists.
· Identify errors, omissions, or inconsistencies in documentation and coordinate corrective actions with Screening Specialists and Disaster Case Managers.
· Provide technical guidance and feedback to staff regarding compliance issues, documentation standards, and program requirements.
· Track and document QA/QC findings, corrective actions, and resolutions to ensure accountability and transparency.
· Assist in the preparation of compliance reports, monitoring reviews, and audit responses as required by funding agencies.
· Collaborate with training staff and program leadership to address recurring compliance issues and incorporate lessons learned into staff development.
· Monitor program processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend policy or procedural changes to strengthen internal controls.
· Remain current with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to CDBG-DR and ensure their appropriate application to program operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, social services, or a related field required.
· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance, auditing, compliance, or program monitoring.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management or data tracking systems.
Preferred:
· Master’s degree in a relevant field.
· Direct experience with HUD programs, particularly CDBG or CDBG-DR, strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Demonstrated ability to analyze data and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
· Strong knowledge of HUD requirements and federal grant compliance.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and deliver constructive feedback.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
· Ability to travel occasionally for on-site reviews, monitoring visits, or audits.
· Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive applicant data; strict adherence to confidentiality and data security standards required.
