Location: North County, San Diego (Onsite)

Compensation: $115,000 - $125,000 Base Salary


About the Opportunity

A growing and globally connected specialty chemical organization is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead quality systems, regulatory compliance, and product stewardship initiatives. This role will serve as the primary quality leader, ensuring product integrity, supplier compliance, toll manufacturing oversight, and adherence to regulatory standards across domestic and international operations.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in regulated chemical environments, strong supplier management exposure (including imports), and a proven ability to work cross-functionally with regulators, auditors, vendors, and customers. This is a high-impact leadership role with visibility across operations, sourcing, and executive leadership.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

  • Lead all QA/QC functions to ensure product quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and SOPs
  • Oversee product testing, inspection protocols, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality performance

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, and certification bodies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and international regulations
  • Maintain documentation systems to support audits and inspections
  • Manage product stewardship responsibilities, including safety documentation and compliance reporting

Supplier & Toll Manufacturing Oversight

  • Oversee quality compliance for imported materials and finished goods
  • Evaluate and audit domestic and international suppliers
  • Manage toll manufacturing partners to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations to mitigate risk across the supply chain

Systems & Documentation

  • Maintain robust documentation and recordkeeping systems
  • Support ISO-based frameworks and Responsible Care initiatives (preferred)
  • Implement improvements to quality reporting and traceability processes

Qualifications

  • 7–12 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within the chemical industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field
  • Experience in regulated chemical manufacturing environments
  • Direct experience with imports, supplier qualification, and vendor oversight
  • Proven interaction with regulators, auditors, suppliers, and customers
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and Responsible Care programs preferred
  • Strong documentation and systems management background
  • Chinese–English bilingual proficiency is a plus
