QA Tester / Release Engineer

QA Tester / Release Engineer San Jose, CA (Onsite) 6 Months+ We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Tester with Release Engineering experience to support software quality assurance and release management processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating application functionality, executing test cases, identifying defects, and supporting the coordination and deployment of application releases across multiple environments. This role requires close collaboration with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery and smooth production releases. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases based on business and technical requirements. Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of applications. Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools. Validate bug fixes and ensure proper resolution before production release. Participate in test planning, test strategy development, and test execution reporting. Release Engineering Coordinate software releases across development, QA, staging, and production environments. Manage and monitor build and deployment processes using CI/CD tools. Work with DevOps teams to automate release pipelines and deployment procedures. Maintain release documentation including release notes and deployment plans. Ensure proper version control and configuration management. Required Skills Experience in software testing and QA methodologies. Knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum environments. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.). Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Strong understanding of version control systems (Git). Ability to coordinate releases and troubleshoot deployment issues. Preferred Skills Experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright). Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (Azure/AWS). Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, or PowerShell). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 3–7 years of experience in QA testing and/or release engineering. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
