Coordinates, monitors, and reports on quality-related activities of the organization. Participates in internal and external audit preparations and operations. Organizes and provides quality system training to staff. The ideal candidate will love quality processes and be driven to improve on them; it’s an excellent opportunity to implement flexible quality management processes in a widely varying product development environment. This position may include supervisory responsibilities over a team of quality and test engineers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Ensures that the Quality Management System is properly implemented and maintainedPromotes awareness of quality, regulatory, and customer requirements throughout the organizationReports to other management team members on matters regarding the implementation and effectiveness of the quality system, including quality audits and CAPAsEnsures the appropriate oversight, implementation, and review of the CAPA systemEnsures the appropriate implementation and review of internal auditsInterfaces with external agencies and customers for periodic planned audits, impromptu visits, and investigations of reported quality issuesInterfaces with representatives of customers’ quality organizationsParticipates in project design controls and provides oversight and guidance to the rest of the quality teamQualifications:10+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance including some quality management responsibilitiesExperience and knowledge of quality system standards, regulations, implementations, CAPA process, supplier management, and auditing techniques and principlesEducation/Experience:Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (B.S.), and preferably an M.S, from a technical college or university in an Engineering, Science, or Technical Management fieldDesired Skills/ExperienceAS9100 auditor training, Regulatory Affairs Certification, and/or Six Sigma certifications are strongly desiredExperience in multiple regulated industries and managing quality processes with an eye toward continual improvementFamiliarity with Airworthiness, safety, and qualification requirements including AR4754, AR4761, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254Leadership Ability: Ability to speak effectively in front of a groupAbility to gain the support of the organization and redirect their thinking to accomplish a given goal or directiveMust demonstrate consistent aptitude in creating and updating quality system documents and best practices, as well as the implementation of effective training mechanisms across the organizationMust be able to present information effectively and to respond professionally to questions from peers, supervisors, and customersLanguage Ability:Ability to create, read, analyze, and interpret complex documents to respond effectively to inquiries and complaintsAbility to write problem statements, draw accurate conclusions, and form arguments supported by evidence for regulatory submissionLocation: Hybrid in Conklin, NY (on-site at least 50%)Salary Range: $120K-$170KThe actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
