About the Role:
The QC Chemist plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of chemical products through rigorous testing and analysis. This position involves conducting detailed chemical, physical, and instrumental analyses to verify that products meet established specifications and regulatory standards. The QC Chemist collaborates closely with production and R&D teams to identify and resolve quality issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Accurate documentation and adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) are essential to maintain compliance and support audits. Ultimately, the QC Chemist helps safeguard consumer safety and company reputation by ensuring that only high-quality products reach the market.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in a quality control laboratory environment, preferably within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and wet chemistry methods.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Experience with method development and validation.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
- Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Previous experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and titration.
- Interpret and record test results accurately, ensuring compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure precision and reliability of test data.
- Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and research and development to support product quality and process improvements.
- Prepare and review standard operating procedures (SOPs), test methods, and quality documentation.
- Ensure laboratory safety protocols are followed and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
