The QC Inspector position is located in Mont Belvieu, TX. It is an on‑site role within Optimized Process Designs, LLC, a KES company that provides engineering and construction services in the natural gas and petrochemical sectors. Responsibilities Effectively work with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance. Receive inspection: Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests; reject and return unacceptable materials. Confirm that only approved welders, procedures, materials, etc. are being used in production. Perform inspections professionally, safely and without bias. Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into the Opd Construction Management System (CMS). Serve as an accountable leader of safety and environmental concerns at field sites; actively participate in a strong safety culture; recognize safety hazards and risks; participate in onsite safety meetings; follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures; be aware of changing conditions on an active job site; be on time each day ready for work; display a positive attitude and work in a team environment. Physical Demands Capable of working outdoors in extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations. Standing for extended periods of up to 12 hours per day. Perform physical tasks such as moving, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending regularly. Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools. Basic Qualifications 2+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in the oil & gas industry. Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Basic computer skills. Other Job Requirements Willing to travel 100 % of the time to locations that could be outside the Houston area. Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Desired Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in the oil & gas industry. AWS CWI Certification. ASNT Level II VT Certification. ACI Concrete Field Testing Tech Grade 1. Visual acuity to a Jaeger J1 test chart within the last 12 months. NACE Coating Inspector Certification. API Certifications (570, 510, or 653). Knowledge of AMSE Section V, IX, and B31.3.
