Quality Assurance Engineer Location: On-site | Full-Time (minimum 40 hours/week) This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive systems thinker with a solid foundation in manufacturing quality and a genuine curiosity to grow in quality systems and problem-solving. The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a hands‑on role in customer complaint management, corrective action execution, internal audits, and document control , partnering cross‑functionally to translate requirements—including applicable standards and certifications—into practical, effective controls . Success in this role means reducing customer complaints, scrap, and rework through disciplined problem‑solving and sustained system improvements. Key Responsibilities Customer Complaint Management Maintain the Customer Complaint Log, ensuring accurate tracking, evidence collection, and timely closure. Lead complaint investigations, including containment actions, product impact evaluation, and coordination of cross‑functional responses. Analyze and trend complaint data to drive actions that reduce repeat issues and overall customer complaints. Corrective Action (CA) System Initiate and manage corrective actions arising from customer complaints, audit findings, and significant or repeat issues. Lead structured root cause analysis and countermeasure development using 5‑Why, Fishbone, 8D, and A3 methodologies. Verify effectiveness, ensure actions are appropriately scoped (correction vs. corrective action), and confirm proper documentation and closure. ISO 9001 / Quality Management System (QMS) Support Support day‑to‑day ISO 9001 execution in partnership with the QMS Manager, maintaining audit‑ready records and logs. Serve as a point person for training system execution by helping ensure training records are maintained and supporting onboarding through coordination with department owners. Provide data and inputs for management review, including KPIs, complaint and CA status, audit results, training/onboarding metrics, and improvement actions. Internal Audit Program Coordinate the internal audit schedule, auditor assignments, and audit preparation activities. Participate in internal audits and issue reports and findings supported by objective evidence. Track audit findings to closure, trigger corrective actions when required, and trend results to identify systemic improvement opportunities. Documentation & Document Control Support departments in creating and updating SOPs and work instructions, with emphasis on CTQs, acceptance criteria, and point‑of‑use clarity. Assist with document control activities, including revisions, approvals, release, obsolescence, and change communication. Reinforce linkage between updated documents, training requirements, and execution on the floor. Industry Standards, Certifications & External Requirements (AWWA, NSF, UL, BNQ, and Customer Specifications) Develop and maintain working knowledge of applicable industry standards and certification requirements. Support compliance activities by coordinating evidence and records, partnering with process owners, and supporting internal and external reviews. Manage external documents related to standards and certifications, ensuring current versions are controlled and changes are communicated to impacted functions. Continuous Improvement Participate in continuous improvement and Lean activities, including Kaizen events, A3s, and scrap reduction initiatives. Use data to prioritize improvement opportunities and reduce variation, scrap, rework, and customer complaints. Convert improvements into sustained controls through standard work updates, check sheets, and audit points. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related engineering or technical field, or equivalent experience. Strong problem‑solving, documentation, and cross‑functional communication skills. Working knowledge of manufacturing quality concepts and a willingness to learn ISO 9001, industry standards, and certification requirements. Preferred 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, process engineering, continuous improvement, or a related role.
