Position: Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Belmont, NH
Summary:
The company's products include DC/DC converters, AC/DC inverters, solid-state power distribution, generator control, VPX, and rugged battery backup solutions. They offer a unique line-up of power management solutions, offering software-defined power control, as well as a rugged line of USB hubs, ethernet switches, routers, and other network solutions. They have a global footprint, with locations in the US, Israel, Switzerland, and India, and are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to help maintain and grow our quality organization.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Quality Manager to develop, implement and monitor plans and procedures that constitute an effective and economical Quality Management System, which meets the intent of ISO 9001, AS 9100 and customer requirements as well as participate in quality system projects.
- Prepare AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
- Work closely with other departments to establish a common understanding of the Quality Assurance functions and their operations.
- Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and customer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
- Develop and implement supplier quality processes and systems that drive improvement in the external supply chain.
- Evaluate and monitor the quality of suppliers and contract manufacturers; provide quality input and assessment to approved supplier list.
- Perform and document supplier facility and supplier quality audits as well as internal ESD and FOD audits.
- Assist in resolving design, workmanship, material and process issues affecting product quality initiate corrective/preventive actions as appropriate and work with suppliers and purchasing to achieve timely and comprehensive corrections and future prevention.
- Compile and report on product MTBF, design FMEAs, process FEMA's and Environmental Qualification Reports.
- Support government process and workmanship evaluations.
- Schedule, manage and facilitate product source inspections
- Manage and provide daily technical support to the Quality Control inspection team.
- Manage and schedule equipment calibrations.
- Manage and facilitate in-house training programs.
- Acquire IPC A-610 and IPC J STD-001 Trainer certifications to certify QC inspectors and train production personnel to industry workmanship standards.
- Compile KPI metrics for First Pass Yield % (customer and internal), Scrap, On-Time Delivery, %RMA vs Sales).
- Review & approve sales orders, POs, and RMA failure reports.
- Provide budgetary recommendations for the QA Dept.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5+ years as a QA Engineer in AS9100 industry standards for electronic assemblies.
- Significant experience in preparing FAI for customers including experience working with NET- INSPECT per AS9102.
- Solid understanding of design documentation including electronic assembly & mechanical drawings, BOM.
- Working knowledge of typical QC tools such as callipers, micrometres, height, pin and push-pull gauges.
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications, Product Life Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems.
- Results-oriented with the ability to work within cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter with excellent written, verbal, statistical, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to travel between locations (Belmont, NH and Manchester, NH).
