Job Description: Quality Assurance Engineer (European Projects)Location: Belgium and NetherlandsLanguages: French or DutchDuration: 12 Months with the possibility of extensionOnsite Prescience: 100% onsite prescience Overview The selected candidate will support multiple nuclear facilities across Europe, contributing to shielding fabrication activities, quality assurance processes, and plant dismantling and decommissioning projects. The role involves supervising site personnel, ensuring compliance with strict safety and quality standards, and supporting both lifetime extension programmes and decommissioning work. Project One – Shielding Project The assignment will begin at a European nuclear site where the candidate will act as an instructor and supervisor to blue-collar personnel on site. The role involves overseeing and guiding workers responsible for the fabrication of shielding components using LAT.The workforce involved includes quality inspectors and electricians. Supervising and instructing personnel in the handling and installation of heavy LAT shielding components.Supporting logistics related to component installation and fabrication.Providing on-site technical guidance and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Project Two: Plant Lifetime Extension Project Following the initial assignment, the candidate will support activities related to the revision and extension of a nuclear plant’s operational lifetime. Responsibilities will include performing quality assurance checks associated with work packages designed to support the plant’s long-term operation. Project Three: Decommissioning and Dismantling Projects The candidate will also contribute to dismantling and decommissioning activities at nuclear facilities undergoing shutdown and end-of-life processes.Ensure adherence to strict radiation protection and safety procedures.Assist with inspection and quality verification of decommissioning work.
