The corporation consists of 5 main divisions: Howard Transformers, which is the largest producer of distribution transformers in the U.S., Howard Lighting, Howard Transportation, Howard Technology Solutions, and the newest division, Howard Medical. Howard Industries offers an excellent compensation and benefits package and is located in Laurel, Mississippi, a charming and historic city located thirty minutes from Hattiesburg, one hour from the Gulf Coast and two hours from New Orleans. Job Description:The Quality Assurance Engineer works with the Quality Assurance Manager and other personnel to track and improve product quality. Work on projects specifically related to improving product qualityTrack effectiveness of projects with data analysis toolsConduct root cause investigations and develop effective corrective and preventive actionsCollect cost/benefit data to justify projects and present to managementInvestigate application of new technologies to improve qualityMaintain and improve quality databases and reporting systemsLead quality improvement teams of employees from all departmentsWork with design engineers to implement changes which improve qualityCommunicate with customers to resolve complaintsCoordinate with customers to resolve complaintsVisit customer’s locations to discuss product qualityJob Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (EE or ME) from an accredited universityWilling to work 45-hour work weekWilling to travel occasionally (<10%)Good written and oral communication skillsEnthusiastic, fast learner, self-starter, problem solverWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AccessStatistical analysis skills and knowledge of quality systems is a plusQuality certifications a plus (CQE, CQA, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, etc.)Experience or knowledge of transformers or electrical products a plusBenefits: Medical InsuranceDental Insurance Disability InsuranceLife Insurance401K RetirementEducation ReimbursementPaid Holidays Paid Vacation Equal Opportunity Employer Vet/Disabled
