Quality Assurance ManagerSeaBear Smokehouse, a leader in artisan, small‑batch seafood production, is seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Quality Assurance Manager to uphold the exceptional standards our customers have trusted for decades. As a cornerstone of our processing and manufacturing operations, this role ensures that every product leaving our smokehouse reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, food safety, and operational excellence. If you’re passionate about quality, continuous improvement, and supporting a team that takes pride in authentic Pacific Northwest seafood, we’d love to have you join us!This full‑time, onsite position is based at our headquarters and smokehouse in beautiful Anacortes, Washington. The Quality Assurance Manager will work a Monday–Friday schedule and play a key leadership role within our operations team, reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer. Primary Job Responsibilities Serves as the primary contact for all Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory issues for the plant.Develops, implements, and manages the Quality and Food Safety System.Ensures the effectiveness of the Pest Control programs for the facility and any associated food-grade storage areas.Analyzes QA data and trends KPIs to improve product quality performance.Oversee the completion and verification of daily documentation.Product testing, review results, and maintain responsibility for test-and-hold program.Communicates compliance results to operating groups, ensures timely feedback, and provides technical support to achieve FSQA targets.Utilizes customer and consumer complaint data to identify root cause, then communicates and provides support to implement process/product improvements.Determines the disposition of all raw materials, packaging, and finished product HOLD orders.Develops a Quality and Product Safety System that consistently meets regulatory, customer, and third-party audit requirements.Knowledge of FDA labeling requirements; responsible for creating and keeping nutritional panels up to date.Qualifications5 plus years of food manufacturing industry experience, specifically in QA/Food Safety, with 3 years in direct leadership rolesStrong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and regulatory requirements.Seafood HACCP Certified.PCQI Certified Experience with food safety systemsMeticulous record keeping, inspections, audits, and training/safety recordsExperience with SQF, FDA & WSDA auditing processes/procedures Keep detailed records of inspections, audits, training, and corrective actions to demonstrate compliance.Familiarity with Lean Management Practices (5S, Gemba, Sigma, Kanban, etc.) within a production/manufacturing facility helpful but not requiredCompensation/BenefitsCompensation: $80k - $90k, DOEMedical, Dental, Vision, 401k match, after 60 daysUnlimited PTO; paid sick leave, paid personal daysEmployee product discounts, luncheons, swag, etc.
