Quality Assurance Manager
Galloway Consolidated Holdings, Inc., (GCH); parent company of Bema, and Elite Extrusion Technology, recognized as leading suppliers in the packaging industry; is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager with a proven track record in supporting a fast-paced organization. This position will be responsible for developing and initiating programs and procedures to ensure product quality from raw material to finished goods. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining all certification programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate operation policies, procedures, systems and strategies to ensure a quality product is produced.
- Responsible for oversight of AIB initiative and coordination of AIB Program to maintain an AIB Superior Rating.
- Define procedures for company personnel.
- Promoting quality achievement and performance improvements across the organization.
- Identifies and utilizes relevant quality-related training needs.
- Ensure the execution of corrective action and ongoing compliance with customer's specifications and requirements.
- Manage documentation and records in order to ensure that they are complete, current, secure and retrievable.
- Interpret data from routine analysis in order to validate that materials meet specifications and approved for shipment to customers.
- Supervise, organize and maintain the Quality Laboratory and Quality Department employees.
- Maintains calibration of inspection instruments and maintains calibration records.
- Troubleshoots any reported quality problems with products.
- Good understanding of root cause analysis.
- Reports to and works closely with the Director of Research and Development.
- Perform other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prefer experience in Plastic Packaging, Plastic Engineering, and/or Blown Film
- 3-5 years Quality Assurance experience
- Experience and a solid background in packaging/manufacturing atmosphere
- AIB or SQF Certification experience required
- Intermediate math and computer skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven problem solving ability
- Thorough knowledge of physical property testing of flexible film; Dart, Tear, Tensile, COF, MVTR, OTR, etc.
- Helps ensure all policies for the company and the American Institute of Baking (AIB) are followed.
