SOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Quality Assurance Nurse is responsible for assisting the Nursing Dept. by reviewing and performing various quality assurance tasks under the oversight of the RN Supervisors/Program Managers.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing. Develops and maintains relationships with the following:
- Program Managers
- Direct Support Staff
- Office Administrative Staff
- Agency Nursing Staff
- Program Director
- Health Care Consultants
- Regulatory Agencies
- Community (neighboring businesses, etc.)
- Maintenance Staff
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Nursing Degree/License
- Dept. of Developmental (DDS) experience preferred.
- Excellent time-management skills (ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks)
- Excellent Organization Skills and Communication Skills.
- Good interpersonal relationships, verbal communication skills.
- Good judgment and ability to handle confidential information.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must hold a valid CT driver’s license and be insurable with Network’s insurance carrier.
- Experience using Electronic Health Record Keeping systems such as Therap is preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate nursing practices within various programs to help maximize efficiency and optimize resident care.
- Suggest and implement changes, train nurses on new procedures, and ensure state and DDS requirements are consistently followed.
- Assist with staff trainings/delegations including Pass and Pours.
- Communication to Medical Providers regarding resident care/follow-up as needed.
- Daily review of Therap.
- Daily medical documentation on Therap (including all nursing follow-up, nursing notes).
- Complete Kardex Checks.
- Type Nursing Reports.
- Routine Med Closet and Kardex audits.
- Routine Medical Binder audits for resident appointments.
- Routine communication to Program Manager of appointments needing to be scheduled.
- Routine communication with Director of Nursing/Asst. Director of Nursing/ RN Supervisors.
- Filing medical documentation at various programs.
- Ensure nursing procedures are in compliance with all agency and DDS policies
- Carry out the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Network, Inc., while following all governing regulations as they pertain to group homes and intellectually and physically disabled individuals
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program and maintain a current nursing license through the State of CT.
