Contract: LASSO II

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required

Astrion is seeking a Quality Assurance Representative to join our team at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC), supporting the LASSO II Contract. This is a full-time, onsite role where you'll ensure mission-critical operations are conducted safely, effectively, and in compliance with NASA, federal, and industry standards.

As part of our safety and mission assurance team, you'll perform hands-on work in laboratory and operational environments, support flight hardware and GSE quality inspections, and provide oversight of Astrion' s AS9100D Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with NASA and external customer requirements.

This position is ideal for a detail-driven quality assurance representative who thrives in dynamic environments where human spaceflight, cutting-edge technology, and mission success converge.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

    \n
  • \nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Safety, Occupational Health, or related field
  • \n
  • \nExperience: 5+ years of relevant experience in quality assurance, or ISO/AS9100 auditing
  • \n
  • Skills:
  • \n
      \n
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills
    • \n
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • \n
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and SharePoint
    • \n
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision
    • \n
    • Physical ability to climb stairs/ladders, wear PPE, and work both indoors and outdoors in a hazardous testing facility environment
    • \n
    \n

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AS9100D Lead Quality Auditor certification (ANAB accredited)
  • \n
  • American Society for Quality certifications (CQA, CQE, CQI, etc.)
  • \n
  • Skilled in continuous improvement projects (Six Sigma)
  • \n

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    \n
  • Provide oversight and implementation support for Astrion' s AS9100D-compliant Quality Management System\n
  • \n
  • Serve as the primary internal auditor for the LASSO II contract performing audits and interfacing with employees and management
  • \n
  • Support quality inspection of GSE and flight hardware for CRCA, LETF, and Field Projects, including work involving cable fabrication, process changes, QMS compliance, supporting in house quality inspectors with guidance
  • \n
  • Review and approve Work Authorization Documents and perform corrective action plans
  • \n
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the LASSO II laboratory groups and NASA Quality and customer audit teams
  • \n
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues in coordination with NASA, government agencies, and project teams
  • \n
  • Partner with laboratory operations to maintain compliance with customer, NASA, and company quality standards
  • \n
  • Collaborate across multiple disciplines to ensure safe and efficient operations in high-consequence environments
  • \n
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement in support of space exploration missions
  • \n
  • Assist the safety team in conducting site safety, health, and quality assessments across operational and research programs
  • \n
