Job Description
Thompson First Group is seeking an Quality Assurance Technician for a direct hire role with a local client in Aston, PA.

Candidates that have a background in Quality control or have worked in food safety regulated environments are encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities

  • Test product for its intended use and make sure it performs to specifications
  • Maintain a record of problems and send defective products report
  • Determine the problems in the manufacturing process
  • Conduct controlled testing on products to determine how the products perform in a simulated environment
  • Submit a daily report to the Plant Manager and Quality Control Director noting QC activities, jobs produced, any test reports of materials, any problems noted during the day
  • Check and sign off on temperature monitoring sheets, CCP checks, net weight sheets
  • Perform analysis of raw materials and mix designs for quality, cost and effectiveness
  • Maintain all equipment required for quality control testing
  • Ensure QC checklist is followed and retain finalized checklist for review
  • Check proper temperature, weight, shape, package, etc…
  • Evaluate Samples

Quality Control & Food Safety

  • Inspect products for quality and consistency, ensuring they meet company and USDA specifications.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures at all times.
  • Report any product defects, contamination risks, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.

Safety & Compliance

  • Comply with all OSHA, USDA, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, aprons, hairnets, and safety glasses.
  • Participate in safety training and report any unsafe conditions or near misses.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1-2 years experience at a food processing plant
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow production schedules, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.

Work Environment

  • Cold temperatures (40°ree;F–48°ree;F) in refrigerated processing areas.
  • Wet, noisy environment with exposure to raw meat and cleaning chemicals.
  • Shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Standing for up to 8–10 hours per shift.
