Overview The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey, offers 21 undergraduate majors and a range of research, teaching, and outreach programs. The Rutgers Food Innovation Center is a hub for developing food products that meet safety and quality standards. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician to support client product manufacturing and ensure production runs safely under food safety regulations and guidelines. Key Duties/Responsibilities Calibrates thermometers, scales, and pH meters. Performs pre‑operational inspections of production rooms before production. Conducts ATP and allergen swabbing. Assists with pH measurement, temperature and weight collection during production. Documents all data being tested. Conducts internal audits and inspections for environmental monitoring. Performs other Quality Assurance duties as assigned. Salary Details $20.00 – $30.00 hourly. Minimal 1‑2 years working in a QA/QC technician or operator QA capacity in a food‑related business. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to demonstrate and enforce GMPs and adhere to Good Documentation Practices. Detail oriented with the ability to address food safety and quality issues in a thorough and professional manner. Preferred Qualifications Experience with wet, cold, hot, or slippery work environments. Experience working in temperature‑controlled rooms (85+ or 50 degrees). Special Conditions Time allowed: 19.9 hours per week, averaged over each quarter; flexible hours per day. Position requires a fully on‑site work arrangement.
