As a Quality Assurance Technician at Stoltzfus Meats, your main job is to help make sure everything we produce is safe, high quality, and meets all the rules-whether they're from the government, our customers, or our own standards. You'll be working hands-on in the plant, checking products, equipment, labels, and sanitation, and helping us stay on track.
A Few Things You'll Be Responsible For

- Completing inspection reports and keeping good records.
- Checking equipment and facility cleanliness before and during production.
- Making sure sanitation procedures (SSOPs) are being followed.
- Reviewing production processes to ensure consistency and quality.
- Auditing operations and suggesting ways to improve.
- Taking samples and entering data for tracking.
- Checking incoming products to make sure they meet our standards.
- Communicating clearly and quickly about any food safety or quality concerns.
- Helping handle product or environmental testing.
- Calibrating and maintaining QA equipment.
- Verifying packaging and label accuracy.
- Documenting product returns.
- Supporting our food safety systems (GMPs, HACCP).
- Reviewing smokehouse logs and records as needed.
- Stepping in as the regulatory contact if the QA Manager is out.
- Acting as the back-up SQF Practitioner and helping maintain our SQF Program.
- Pitching in wherever needed to support the QA team.
What We're Looking For
- Great attention to detail-you'll be catching things others might miss.
- At least 1 year of experience in a food or meat production environment (QA experience preferred).
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-starter who can stay on task without a lot of supervision.
- Organized and dependable.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic computer systems (QMS a plus).
Education and Training
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional training or education beyond high school is a plus.
- Must have (or be willing to get) HACCP certification.
- Some knowledge of SQF is helpful.
What the Work Environment Is Like
- You'll move between different areas of the plant.
- Expect to be in both cold and hot environments regularly.
Physical Stuff
- You'll need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- You'll be on your feet most of the day (up to 8 hours).
