Job Description
Starting Wage: $24.12/hr
General Summary Statement
To measure material, components, tooling or assemblies for conformance with established specifications, drawings and quality standards.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
1. Completes first article inspection on tooling, gauging, check fixtures, production parts, product development parts, and/or component parts or materials as requested.
2. Completes ISIR requests with ballooning software for Engineering Department/Product Management for first articles, capability studies, TTO's and ISIR.
3. Programs CMM computer for fixturing and inspection of parts for capability studies on parts.
4. Utilizes CMM for layout inspection and scanning technology.
5. Completes capability studies on CMM, surface plate, or comparator as requested.
6. Keeps Supervisor informed of metrology matters which require immediate action or attention.
7. Maintains work in a cleared and orderly condition to minimize safety hazards and lost-time accidents and follows established safety procedures and policies at all times.
8. Maintains/cleans Metrology lab equipment such as CMM, Comparator and gages
9. Attend project meetings as requested.
10. This position supports the continual improvement and compliance of QMS and EMS.
11. Responsible to perform his or her job functions in a manner that supports TriMark's mission, vision and values in order for the company to attain its strategic and growth goals.
Skills Required
1. Understanding of Metrology with experience preferred.
2. Experience with Excel required.
3. Candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints as the position requires.
Core Competencies
• Ability to read/retrieve blueprints to determine if products meet specifications.
• Proficiency in the use of calipers, micrometers and other precision gauges to determine if products meet specifications.
• Good computer skills including, but not limited to operating MCOSMOS, CAT 1000P/S, InspectionXpert, JD Edwards software, Fastlook, Navigation of the u:drive and Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to operate and program Mitutoyo CMM Machines to measure TriMark's products, fixtures and gauges.
• Ability to maintain, clean and perform general upkeep and PM on all TriMark Gauge Room equipment.
• Strong product knowledge of all TriMark Manufactured and Assembled Products.
Ability to work cooperatively on a regular basis with other employees.
Working Conditions
Generally good, with exposure to hazards of machine operations, oils, lubricants, and solvents necessary to the work involved. Possible skin irritation from residues of oil and lubricants on inspection parts and chemicals in the test lab. The work area is dry and temperature is normal for the season. Noise level is 50-80 dB. Uniform safety practices consist of safety shoes, safety glasses, and other devices as required. This area requires normal or corrected vision, normal depth perception and peripheral vision of 180 degrees and no color deficiency. Hearing protection is not required but is available.
