A well-established manufacturing organization in the Youngstown area is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join its team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet defined quality standards and customer specifications throughout the production process.

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting in-process and finished product inspections, documenting quality data, identifying non-conformances, and supporting corrective and preventive action initiatives. This role works cross-functionally with production, engineering, customer service, and suppliers to maintain product integrity and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of in-process and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Inspect and qualify supplier-provided and internally manufactured components

  • Maintain quality documentation including inspection reports and non-conformance records

  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives

  • Perform random production audits to ensure adherence to established procedures

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns

  • Assist in developing and maintaining quality control documentation (process flows, control plans, FMEA, procedures)

  • Participate in quality meetings and prepare reports on quality metrics

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce defects and enhance product consistency

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or quality-related certification preferred

  • Experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably within manufacturing

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and quality management systems; ERP experience preferred

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
