Job Description
A well-established manufacturing organization in the Youngstown area is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join its team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet defined quality standards and customer specifications throughout the production process.
Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting in-process and finished product inspections, documenting quality data, identifying non-conformances, and supporting corrective and preventive action initiatives. This role works cross-functionally with production, engineering, customer service, and suppliers to maintain product integrity and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of in-process and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications
Inspect and qualify supplier-provided and internally manufactured components
Maintain quality documentation including inspection reports and non-conformance records
Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives
Perform random production audits to ensure adherence to established procedures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns
Assist in developing and maintaining quality control documentation (process flows, control plans, FMEA, procedures)
Participate in quality meetings and prepare reports on quality metrics
Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce defects and enhance product consistency
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or quality-related certification preferred
Experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably within manufacturing
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and quality management systems; ERP experience preferred
Effective communication and teamwork skills
