Job Description The Quality Control Technician works closely with Supervision to ensure optimum levels of quality inspections, testing, package identification, and final packaging. Location 1035 E. North St. Bradley, IL. Duties and Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and Production Supervisor. Understanding and following verbal instructions to completion of assigned tasks. Ensuring a quality product is produced through inspections and testing with a focus on safety and spoilage. Responsible for the quality of all operations for the production of aluminum beverage cans. Identifying quality problems and disposition. Communicating all pertinent information between management, co‑workers, and shifts on changes to equipment, production problems, or other related information. Assisting and training new technicians as needed, applying skills and methods learned to improve plant production. Following JHA’s, SOP’s, rules, 6S housekeeping, and maintaining gauging equipment and modifying existing production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies. Entering information into a computer to document data. Performing accurate and continuous quality checks and record keeping. Completing and/or administering necessary documentation such as monthly SAFE cards, accident/near‑miss/hazard reporting, and data process control input. Performing other job‑related duties as required or assigned. Job Requirements In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following: Minimum Requirements High School Education/GED. 2–3 years of experience with computer skills in inspecting, testing, packaging, and a high‑speed manufacturing environment. Basic computer skills required. Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support. Preferred Requirements (Not Mandatory) Knowledge of all OSHA related training in a manufacturing environment. Beverage packaging quality industry experience. Knowledge of AS400, QAS, and NWA. 6S training. Competencies Problem‑solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach. Ability to work independently or with a team. Ability to think outside the box and look at new solutions. Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, and decision making. Demonstrated good relational skills and the ability to motivate or team with people. Excellent time‑management and multi‑tasking skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.). Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May need to climb stairs to upper level at times. May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions Manufacturing, office, packaging, and warehouse environment. Exposure to light lifting, warehouse forklift traffic. Production noise level is frequently loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
