Job Description
Position-Quality Control Inspector
The following statements are intended to describe the nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection of in process manufacturing assemblies and finished goods – use product
documentation.
- Work Order and Bills of Material (BOM) and instructions, to determine
product identity, production and material requirements.
- Gather inspection records, data sheets, engineering drawings as needed to verify available materials at production set-up
- Utilizing BOM; verify replacement material; pull inspection sample from in process
production or finished goods according to sampling plan.
- assemble product if necessary and inspect according to instructions and compare samples to specific inspection criteria.
- Assess aesthetic quality of product, determine quantity and appropriate level of
defectives.
- Document completed inspection and rejection using a defective material report
(DMR) appropriately and replace samples and repackage as necessary for further processing.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, quality and assembly instructions
correctly. Use tape measure, digital caliper, weighing scale and the ability to learn basic
Computer skills
- Complete written inspection records accurately.
- Good vision with accurate color.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Previous inspection or mechanical measurement experience helpful.
