Role Description

Overall on-site project lead responsible for quality control and quality assurance. Specifically, this position will be full-time at the project site, working from a field office. Support the Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating, Business Development and Accounting departments.

Responsibilities Include:

Create effective partnerships with clients, employees, and construction partners.

Assist in daily field management of field personnel, subcontractors, prime contractors and suppliers.

Implementation of the safety and quality plan on the jobsite; including participating in toolbox talks, reporting of incidents, conducting inspections and participating in other respective company initiatives.

Mentorship of junior field staff including project engineers, assistant superintendents, foreman and trade workers to ensure they can develop and progress in their career paths. Provide coaching opportunities and feedback to respective supervisors.

Daily communication with jobsite teams and participation in job briefings or morning tailboard meeting.

Logging daily detailed and accurate field reports in Procore (or other applicable software's) with pictures.

Partner with superintendent to ensure that milestones, AHAs, preconstruction meetings, testing and inspection windows and preinstallation meetings are built into the 4-week schedule.

Work with project team to help maintain accurate master schedule, hold subcontractors accountable to contract documents.

Coordinate with project management to ensure pre-install meetings are schedules and support the facilitating of those meetings with corporate quality or risk management personnel.

Participate actively in preparing and running Preconstruction Meetings, Owner and Progress Meetings, Pay Application Meetings, Subcontractor Coordination Meetings, Pre-Installation Meetings, recording and issuance of meeting minutes, transmittals, letters, emails and calendars.

Assist Project Manager with Pay App requests to confirm percentage of work completed is accurate

Identify issues that may cause delays and discuss with PM and subs.

Quality Control including setting up and completing daily and weekly quality inspections and reports, communication of these items to all project stakeholders, and project time frames, and overseeing quality control specialists and special inspectors.

Quality Assurance including review of construction documents and communicating with subcontractors prior to the start of definable features of work, to ensure the project is constructed to all quality expectations.

Ensure submittals are received, reviewed and submitted according to scheduled project time frames.

Assist with scheduling and coordination of subcontractors, site personnel, activities, and materials on assigned projects. This includes creating and maintaining schedules throughout the construction process.

Project Change Management including Owner changes which involve Requests for Information, Request for Proposals, Architect Supplemental Instructions, Change Directives and Proceed Orders and Unforeseen Conditions; Poettker Changes which includes Back Charges, Scope Gaps, and Time & Materials (T&M) Work; as well as meeting Process Time Frames.

Interact and collaborate with the Owner and Architect to ensure clients expectations are met and satisfaction achieved.

business needs or incumbent skills and abilities. Changes to minimum qualifications should be reviewed with and approved at the Officer level.

Coordinate inspections, schedule tests and AHJ requirements per the project specifications.

Project close-out procedures including ensuring punch list is completed, operations & maintenance (O&M) manuals are submitted, as-built drawings submission, change order resolution, training, warranties, close-out meetings, and final billings.

If any of these responsibilities or tasks are delegated to another project team member, it is ultimately the responsibility of this position to ensure that the task is executed to the expectations of the company and client.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field with 5 years related construction experience or 10+ years related construction experience in quality control or project management. USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors course, OSHA 30 Hour Training & Certifications required. Experience on federal government construction projects over $10 million and EM385-1-1 certification is preferred.
