Overview Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Quality Control Inspector to work out of our Waggaman, LA location. We are seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Control Inspector to support our production operations and ensure every part leaving our facility meets the highest standards. Responsibilities Perform in‑process, first‑article, and final inspections of fabricated steel components Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, gauges, etc. Verify weld quality in accordance with AWS standards (visual inspection) Document nonconformances and support root‑cause and corrective‑action activities Work closely with production, welding, and engineering teams to maintain quality expectations Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and safety standards Maintain accurate inspection records in the QC system Ideal Candidate Experience in steel fabrication, welding, machining, or manufacturing required Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings Familiarity with welding standards (AWS D1.1 preferred) Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection techniques Proficiency in Microsoft products required (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced shop environment Prior QC/QA experience is a plus (not required—will train the right candidate) Days/Shift Monday thru Friday 6:00am-2:30pm What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Opportunity to grow within a rapidly expanding manufacturing operation Hands‑on training and certification opportunities A strong culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement Weekly pay Competitive hourly pay based on previous experience Paid Time Off Low affordable rates for Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance as well other benefits such as 401k with company matching (4%), Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance after 60 days We specialize in the manufacture and distribution of a complete line of pipe hangers and supports for commercial and industrial applications since 1913.
