Key Responsibilities:

  •  Quality Management System (QMS): Support and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant aerospace certifications.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Lead and support root cause analysis for non-conformances and provide corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or similar, aiming to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
  • Supplier Quality Assurance: Work with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met, conduct supplier audits, and address any supplier-related quality issues.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure proper documentation for all quality activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance material reports (NCMRs), and quality metrics. Prepare and present findings to management. Participate in the Engineering documentation review process to assure compliance to customer, regulatory and all other applicable requirement(s)/standard(s).
  • Compliance & Audits: Manage/support internal and external audits, ensuring that the company is fully compliant with applicable industry regulations, safety standards, and customer requirements.
  • Inspection & Testing: May assist with performing inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and aerospace standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to support product development, manufacturing, and the resolution of any quality issues.
  • Training: Develop/provide training to staff on quality processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Other: Other responsibilities as defined by management/supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: 3-7 years of experience in quality engineering, specifically within the aerospace industry, with a strong understanding of aerospace quality standards.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of aerospace standards such as AS9100, AS9110, NADCAP, and ISO 9001.
    • Experience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA, etc.
    • Proficiency in quality tools such as Minitab, Six Sigma, or statistical process control (SPC).
    • Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques (micrometers, calipers, pin and thread gages, etc.).
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of computers, electrical systems, schematics, electrical testing preferred.
  • Understanding of safety and regulatory compliance related to aerospace manufacturing
