Position Summary

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing quality plans, assisting in process development, and process improvements related to customer requirements and Jireh Metal Product standards. This position will also be responsible for assisting and coordinating continual improvement activities and corrective and preventive actions within the quality management system. This position must be able to provide documentation of analyses and proposals for continual improvement. The Quality Engineer is also responsible for the coordination and submittal of PPAP documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This listing of “Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities” is designed to guide and help identify the expectations of this role and to support the department and business to ensure that our customers receive the highest quality product possible.

  • Ability to support multiple locations.
  • Responsible for the statistical analysis and evaluation of the process quality improvement activities (Process Studies/Control Plans).
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of operator quality sheets and control plan creation utilizing Plex capabilities.
  • Responsible for the PPAP process for customers, suppliers, and APQP, including tracking and communicating PPAP approvals.
  • Support leadership in the training of team members in quality techniques
  • Participates in the APQP and ECO’s to assist the team in the development of control plans, FMEA’s, and process flow diagrams.
  • APQP activities including, but not limited to, die design review, strip reviews, feasibility reviews, risk analyses, and support die tryouts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with supply partners and customers.
  • Assists in the investigation of nonconforming material, customer identified or internally identified, and works with the team to correct and prevent recurrence.
  • Work together with the team in the generation of inspection procedures and measurement work instructions, as well as the design of inspection and measurement solutions.
  • Required to assist the Quality Technicians when needed and provide guidance for part quality disposition.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge and experience in the use of statistical process control is mandatory and/or other advanced statistical techniques desired. 
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Ability to work individually in a team environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
