- Review Purchase Orders, Quality Flow-down Requirements, Customer Prints/standards, and MAPP internal work instructions/operational drawings. Work with Engineering and Customer Service to revise as needed to ensure product quality.
- Flag First Article Requirements per AS9102, and conduct FAI planning activities to ensure Industry and Customer Standards are met.
- Assist in creating and reviewing customer compliant documentation packages at time of shipment.
- Manage deviated material, perform timely reviews of new nonconformances, and work with MRB authority to disposition deviated product.
- Use defect data to identify trends and assist production leaders in targeting improvement opportunities.
- Utilize 8D Methodology to facilitate Corrective Action investigations launched from audit findings, nonconforming material, customer escapes, or poor supplier performance.
- Work with suppliers to foster positive quality performance.
- Possess a thorough understanding and working knowledge of AS9100.
- Support Corrective Action Board and Management Review when required.
- Other duties as assigned and congruent to the role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or 5 years’ equivalent experience. Quality Assurance Roles are preferred.
- Good people’s skills with an open mind to drive/assist MAPP personnel to continue fostering a culture driven by product Quality and On Time Delivery.
- Strong record keeping skills utilizing MS applications with an emphasis on Excel. MES knowledge a plus (ProfitKey).
- Positive attitude aimed to maintain a high customer satisfaction level (internal and external) and effectively communicate in both technical & user-friendly language at all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities to support a fast paced atmosphere. Ready & willing to go the extra mile to meet deadlines.
- Well-Acquainted with machining, fabrication, assembly, special processes i.e. anodizing, plating, and paint and other related manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge with Metrological Methods & Measuring, and test equipment.
- Cognizance of Quality Management Systems, such as AS9100
- Experience with quality cost concepts and techniques to evaluate and improve performance.
- Technical writing ability (i.e. QMS documentation, CAPA, PPAP, FMEA, operating and rework instructions)
- Excellent blueprint reading skills, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance per ASME/ANSI Y14.5
- Lean Training, Six Sigma, Green Belt, Black Belt Certification Desired.
- Traveling for business 5%
- Net-Inspect experience a plus.
- Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
- Discus (or equivalent FAI bubbling software) experience is a plus.
Responsible for ensuring that MAPP meets the quality requirements that are flowed down from customer purchase orders, blueprints, 3D Models and technical specifications through review of Job Travelers, and/or related work instructions. Facilitator of Corrective Action investigations through 8D methodology on internal, supplier, or customer driven requests. Manages and reviews nonconforming material. Collaborator as an integral part of a high visibility Quality Assurance team in a quickly growing manufacturing facility, who can support in Quality Customer service roles, such as requests for information, return material authorizations, and audits.
