Position Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the overall day-to-day function, operations, processes, and procedures of the company’s quality control system under the direction of the Quality Manager. This includes maintaining the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 registration and ensuring compliance to meet these standards. Building on our current quality registrations, Thomco is pursuing ISO 13485 certification in 2026—a process in which the Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role. Responsible for the continuous improvement process and ensuring high quality standards of products. Key to this role is the ability to understand customer requirements, coordinate production resources, and follow up effectively to ensure customer satisfaction. This role is designed for a high-potential leader who will partner with our current Quality Manager in the short term, utilizing this period of mentorship to eventually assume full departmental leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent leadership skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and other software programs.
  • Experience with technical writing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team environment.
