Our client is looking for a Quality Inspector (Assembly) to join their team!
Job Description:
As a Quality Inspector, you will inspect and test finished products and sub-assemblies of pressure, temperature, and liquid flow switches and sensors for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. You will perform mechanical inspections of components to ensure they match engineering drawings, test procedures, and specifications. Collaborating closely with teams from Quality, Manufacturing, Design, and Sales, you will support the inspection process. Keeping accurate records and creating reports is an important part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- 80% of your work may involve Final Assembly and In-process Inspection of Switches, Sensors, and Transducers
- Conducting visual inspections and utilizing standard inspection devices or test equipment on production components
- Conducting acceptance tests to determine product compliance with dimensions, performance, mechanical, and electrical specifications
- Performing in-process inspections during assembly line processes such as soldering and passivation
- Documenting non-conformances in Discrepancy Reports (DRs)
- 10% of your work may involve Mechanical Inspection and Receiving Inspection
- Conducting Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspection on products produced by Machine shop and Purchased products
- 10% of your work may involve FAIRs and FAA 8130-3 Tags.
- Performing dimensional inspections for First Article Inspections Reports (FAIRs) when required
- Preparing 8130-3 Authorized Release Certificate, Airworthiness Approval Tag
- Conducting Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) testing on products produced as needed
- Understanding engineering requirements and correlating ATP results to ensure conformity
- Collaborating with the Assembly Manager and Supervisors to establish supportive documentation and inspection criteria for final product acceptability
- Meeting production quotas
- Providing technical assistance and training as needed
- Maintaining high quality standards with minimal discrepant work
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Quality Manager
- Understand engineering requirements and compare test results with test procedures to confirm products meet standards.
- Prepare and maintain required inspection reports and records.
- Assist other inspectors as directed.
- Work with Quality Engineers and Managers to resolve issues.
- Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive work environment.
- Complete inspection tasks as directed by Planners and Supervisors.
- Document issues in Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
- Maintain high-quality standards with minimal errors.
- Perform related tasks requiring equal or lesser skill.
- Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Quality Manager.
- Compliance & Industry Standards:
- ITAR compliant.
- Familiar with AS9100 and AS9102 aerospace standards.
- Ability to consistently follow company quality standards and work instructions.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Skilled in using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, surface tables, height gauges, drop indicators, and thread gauges.
- Able to understand test requirements and set up test benches for product testing.
- Able to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
- Familiar with applying GD&T principles according to ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Language & Communication:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and verbally communicating in English.
- Software Proficiency:
- Familiar with Windows and MS Office applications, notably Outlook and Excel.

- Excellent time management, adaptability, and flexibility.
- Able to solve problems independently with minimal guidance.
- Professional attitude with a strong focus on teamwork.
- Availability:
- Willing to work overtime as needed to support business needs.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously require sitting, using hands and fingers to flex and extend fingers with opposition of thumb-palmar grasp, talk or hears.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, turn, twist, push, and pull and to move within all areas of the facilities and parking lots.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the manufacture of machined metal parts and/or assemblies
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
