Description:
We are seeking a Level 2 Quality Inspector to perform intermediate-to-advanced inspections of aerospace components, assemblies, and systems. This role requires technical expertise, independent judgment, and compliance with aerospace industry standards. The inspector supports the company’s commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, while adhering to all ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements.
Requirements:Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM).
- Independently review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions and standards.
- Operate advanced inspection tools and equipment, including CMMs, optical comparators, and laser scanners.
- Conduct and document First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements.
- Identify, document, and escalate non-conformances; may perform or assist in root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and compliance with AS9100 quality management systems.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company policies, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects as assigned by management.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, AS9100, AS9102).
- Proficiency with advanced inspection techniques and equipment (e.g., CMM, NDT, GD&T).
- Ability to analyze data and resolve complex quality issues.
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
- Solid understanding of blueprint reading, engineering specifications, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in aerospace inspection, quality control, or a related field.
- Experience with outside processes, such as CAD, chrome, nickel plating in aerospace.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
Requirements
- Operate Romer Arm with Verisurf Software.
- Experience with CMM operation and programming.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.
