ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Safely, accurately, and promptly performs inspections according to the inspection plan using tools and techniques such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, digital height indicators, feeler gages, hand gages, drop gages, OGP, and written/visual standards, while ensuring the correct fixtures for each part meet customer requirements. Operates equipment as required (e.g., OGP, internal‑certified CMM, comparator). Conducts visual inspections for stamped or machined products. Performs in‑process and final inspections of in‑house manufactured products per SOPs, traveler instructions, and referenced documents. Records and documents inspection results/findings on applicable data sheets/forms. Assists in the preparation and development of inspection instructions/procedures. Ensures completion of inspections in a timely manner and tracks/reports activities and metrics. Participates in internal audits as requested. Organizes, maintains, and secures inspection records to support good documentation practices and efficient retrieval. Performs department clerical tasks as assigned to support department activities. Works in accordance with and ensures compliance with the quality system procedures related to work activities. Conducts first‑piece and final inspections. Ensures compliance with company policies, ISO‑9001, NQA‑1, J.V. Manufacturing Quality Management System, and applicable government regulations. GENERAL Embraces and participates in J.V.’s safety culture, keeping safety as the #1 priority. Conforms to all safety rules, production, and quality directives and maintains a clean work area to meet J.V. standards. Reports incidents promptly and participates in investigations (e.g., safety, spills, accidents, productivity/workflow). Provides suggestions, demonstrates a questioning attitude, and remains supportive and open‑minded to new ideas and initiatives. Maintains positive and supportive employee relations through continuous communication with colleagues. Performs a variety of administrative, inventory, security, auditing, housekeeping, painting, inspection, telephone, ordering, shipping, training, mentoring, safety data sheet updating, and any other duties assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: At least five (5) years of inspection/testing of components, fabricated parts, subassemblies, product assemblies, finished devices, or related industry experience. Technology: Proficient computer skills, including internet/intranet navigation and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to learn and become proficient in Visio and other applicable technology. Knowledge and Competencies: See Appendix A (last page). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education / Training: Technical or associate's degree in a related field. Technology: Experience with Mini‑Tab, Statistical Process Control, Gage R & R, and capability studies. Industry Specific Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO TS 19649, NQA‑1, 10 CFR Appendix B, and 10 CFR Part 21 is a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee works in a temperature‑controlled manufacturing environment, typically a minimum 40‑hour week with mandatory overtime as needed. Shifts may rotate between 1st and 2nd shift. Reliable transportation is required for all shifts. The work involves proximity to moving mechanical parts, variable noise levels, and the use of appropriate PPE. WHY JV MANUFACTURING?
