Quality Inspector Apply
Urethane Innovators, Inc is seeing a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join the quality team at its New Bern, NC location. The Quality Inspector will inspect materials and products for conformance to specifications, using fixed or preset measuring instruments, as well as complete associated quality and shipping paperwork for internal and customer use. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Inspects finished or in-process parts and determines acceptance or rejection, in accordance with established tolerance levels for quality. Inspects parts to determine surface defects such as bubbles, pattern defects, and haze variations. Checks parts for conformance using visual inspection and calipers (if needed) and Durometer gauge, along with any other measuring equipment necessary. Cleans and trims parts and readies for shipment. Collects parts (with associated paperwork) that have been scrapped by production, and parts that have been determined suspect by the QA department, to await disposition by the Material Review Board. Sometimes trains less experienced inspectors. Assists QA Manager in maintaining and updating Manufactured Inventory. Confirms Casting Department count of completed parts. Other duties as assigned. Marginal Duties And Responsibilities Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures. Support the goals and objectives of the Company. Observe all Company policies and procedures. Handle all projects with a positive attitude. Accept responsibility and accountability as part of the position. Follow all safety guidelines. Physical And Mental Requirements Must be able to switch from task to task (flexible) without confusion during the work day and work cooperatively with all staff. Mandatory overtime is required when needed. Long pants are required. Plant area is not temperature controlled. Ability to communicate with others in order to gather and exchange information. Must be able to bend, lift, stoop and reach in order to perform all necessary job duties. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Previous production quality control / quality assurance experience and familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers preferred. Ability to read drawings / blueprints. Word and Excel, experience.
