Job Title: Quality Lab Technician

Join our dynamic team as a Quality Lab Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of production batches. You will perform a variety of quality tests and work closely with the Quality Department to maintain high standards in product specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all prescribed testing of production batches according to established methods.
  • Ensure all batches meet required color limits and specifications before filling.
  • Verify that the product remains within specifications at the time of filling.
  • Approve final fill check panels for production.
  • Perform quality testing including color, gloss, viscosity, and physical properties.
  • Determine adjustments needed to meet quality specifications.
  • Keep accurate records of batch adjustments and fill checks on batch tickets.
  • Follow all ISO procedures.
  • Prepare fill check panels and provide approvals for filling.
  • Consult with the Quality Manager on quality issues.
  • Work on short-term projects to improve the efficiency of the Quality Department.
  • Transfer hazardous wastes to the satellite hazardous waste area as needed.
  • Ensure proper labeling of hazardous waste containers.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations and retain storage areas.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in Quality Control (QC) lab.
  • Knowledge of wet chemistry and quality assurance practices.
  • Familiarity with testing color, gloss, viscosity, and physical properties.
  • Basic math knowledge including percentages and fractions.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle various responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Industry-related QC lab experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to ask questions.
  • Experience in production and familiarity with pulling samples.

Work Environment

The position involves working 90% in the lab and 10% on the floor, handling hazardous materials. Lab attire includes wearing lab glasses, button-up shirts, and pants.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
