Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Quality Lead Inspector to join our team in the aerospace manufacturing sector. This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing our commitment to delivering high-quality components and assemblies. The Quality Lead Inspector will oversee inspections, ensure compliance with aerospace standards, and lead a team of quality inspectors to meet both company and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Inspection Leadership: Lead the quality inspection team in evaluating materials, parts, and finished products to ensure adherence to aerospace standards and specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished products using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
- Documentation: Maintain detailed inspection records and produce quality reports, documenting non-conformances and suggesting corrective actions.
- Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior inspectors on best practices and standard inspection procedures.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for quality process improvement, working closely with production and engineering teams to implement best practices.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant aerospace quality standards.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve quality-related issues and enhance product reliability.
- Experience: 5+ years in quality inspection within the aerospace manufacturing industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in quality inspection (e.g., ASQ certification) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T. Experience with CMM operation and programming is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to document and communicate quality issues.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, with experience training others in quality standards and inspection techniques.
