Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all corporate quality functions, ensuring compliance with dual quality systems (IATF-16949 and ISO-9001). This role focuses on promoting customer satisfaction and impacting the company's financial performance through quality initiatives. The Quality Manager will support new product development, oversee continuous improvement projects, and manage a team of technical experts and quality inspectors.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage daily operations of the quality control team, ensuring resources and priorities align with operational demands.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and address nonconformities.
- Lead internal and third-party audits for IATF/ISO certifications, ensuring compliance and effective audit processes.
- Conduct management reviews of the quality system and oversee documentation control and change management.
- Administer PPAP and qualification retention for both new and existing products, with a focus on automotive and military standards.
- Provide technical support and training to teams on quality tools and processes (DFMEA, SPC, etc.).
- Support procurement activities by qualifying new suppliers and monitoring existing suppliers through audits and verification of raw materials.
- Participate in environmental management by engaging in continual improvement efforts to reduce environmental impacts.
- Technical Skills:
- 8D, FMEA, MSA, and SPC (internal expert level)
- Certified to perform product and process audits
- Familiarity with customer quality portals
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Ability to lead teams and work effectively across departments
- Problem Solving & Analysis:
- Strong analytical skills, particularly in quality and process improvement
- Customer Focus:
- Direct problem-solving experience with customers
- Environmental Responsibility:
- Ensure compliance with environmental policies, participate in improvement efforts, and report environmental concerns
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
- Knowledge of lean/six sigma methodology and quality tools
- Experience in the plastics or wire and cable industry, with an automotive background
- Prior direct experience in solving customer problems
- This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday, with potential for evening and weekend work as needed.
- Some travel required.
