Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control within a precision manufacturing and machine shop environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in ISO quality systems, inspection methods, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement in a CNC and manual machining environment. This role is critical to maintaining high standards of product quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards.

  • Lead internal and external audits, manage non-conformances, and ensure corrective/preventive actions are completed.

  • Supervise inspection processes, including first article, in-process, and final inspections for machined parts and assemblies.

  • Manage quality control personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements.

  • Maintain and calibrate measuring equipment such as CMMs, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

  • Oversee documentation including inspection reports, control plans, work instructions, and deviation reports.

  • Interface with customers and suppliers on quality issues, complaints, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Utilize tools such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, 5 Whys, and Root Cause Analysis to support quality and process improvement.

  • Monitor quality metrics and generate reports for senior management; track trends and recommend corrective actions.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred); equivalent work experience considered

  • 6+ years of experience in a quality management role within a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of machining processes (CNC milling, turning, etc.), GD&T, and blueprint reading

  • Proficiency with ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 standards

  • Experience with metrology tools and quality inspection software (e.g., Zeiss Calypso, PC-DMIS, etc.)

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and ERP/MRP systems
