Overview Oversees the quality control operations during the designated shift which includes maintaining the overall plant quality system. Directs the Quality team in assigned manufacturing area in the execution of the group’s responsibilities. Manages the group (manufacturing line, cells, or area) as an operational unit and is responsible for accomplishing company goals and targets in accordance with all company policies, manufacturing standards and methods, and quality standards for safety, product quality, customer satisfaction, accuracy, productivity, cost reduction, housekeeping, efficiency, training, teamwork, and morale. Responsibilities Manages all aspects of quality (Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Quality Inspection). Annual Business Planning and Budget planning and management. Acquires and maintains required certifications. Responsible for department personnel (hourly and exempt) and for team development and succession planning. Support and development of documentation to meet customer and internal requirements. Analyzes processes for continuous improvements, failure modes, stability and capability. Negotiates appropriate quality levels with customers. Maintains supplier and customer quality standards. Reports and presents quality information including quality improvement plans. Countermeasure activities for quality issues and performs quality audits. Interprets company policies to team members and enforces safety regulations. Responsible for overall quality team performance. Adheres to FMVSS / CMVSS / EU Regulations and utilizes IATF / FMDS to implement strategic management of transportation. Primary contact for all supplier, internal, and customer related issues. Develops and maintains SQAM documents such as QAS, Process Flow, PFMEA, MQC/CP, etc. Builds strong relationships with customers, suppliers, production, management, and all team members. Analyzes in‑process defects, investigates root cause and develops countermeasures. Follows safety, quality, confidentiality, and information security policies and procedures. Performs quality audits. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Experience: Greater than eight (8) years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment required, preferably automotive; leadership experience as a supervisor of at least four (4) years. Personal/Technical Skills: Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job functions of a leadership role; general understanding of automotive quality systems, inspection standards, and check fixtures; strong knowledge of Welding, Stamping, Injection Molding and Assembly; strong global vehicle knowledge; ability to work in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment and with multiple departments; effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; ability to teach and train team leaders and members; basic math and analytical skills. Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Computer/Software: Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other computer‑based applications. Work Environment & Conditions Open office environment, moderate noise level; various types of manufacturing environments including an automotive plant environment. Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection may be required in designated areas. Involves moderate or occasional exposure to cold, dust, heat, odor, etc. Travel Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time. Physical Demands Requires ability to talk, see, hear, walk, sit, stand, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
