Job Description
Our client is a manufacturer of industrial and commercial heating products. Seeking a talented Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve quality across manufacturing, assembly, and shipping operations. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a practical, scalable quality program that ensures the company consistently builds and ships the highest quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain an internal quality management program (non-ISO) including standards, inspection criteria, audits, and corrective and preventative actions.
- Manufacturing & Assembly Quality: Oversee in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet engineering specifications, functional requirements, and workmanship standards.
- Audit & Feedback Systems: Establish and lead regular process, product, and shipping audits to create continuous feedback loops and ensure build consistency in a level-loaded production model. Include review tech service calls notes, RMA data, and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
- Non-Conformance & Corrective Action: Investigate defects, non-conformances, and customer issues using structured root cause analysis. Lead cross functional teams in implementing and verifying corrective and preventive actions.
- Shipping Accuracy: Develop and enforce quality checks to ensure products ship complete, correctly configured, and with all required components, documentation, and accessories. Audit for customer experience improvements.
- Data & Reporting: Define, collect, and analyze key quality metrics and report monthly results.
- Training & Quality Culture: Train production and assembly teams on quality expectations, standard work, and inspection methods; promote a culture of quality ownership, accountability, and open communication.
- Supplier & Incoming Quality: Partner with purchasing and engineering to address incoming material quality impacting production or product performance.
Required Education and Experience:
- BS degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, preferably in a hands-on, non-ISO environment.
- Experience building or significantly improving a quality program or system.
- Working knowledge of quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data reporting tools.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally.
