Overview: Manages all quality assurance activities for all phases of production, personnel and food safety operations following standards set by food safety programs and federal regulatory authorities. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain compliance of HACCP, FSMA, PRP’s, Federal Standards, QA and Manufacturing programs for the plant by staying in continuous contact with production to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting quality and food safety. Understand, coordinate and implement Quality and Food Safety programs and procedures.
  2. Coordinates with production to monitor lines for effective control of weights, metal detection, codes and product/package integrity.
  3. Lead Team of QA Technicians in daily tasks and requirements including process verification checks, equipment calibration, CoAs, inspections, etc. Execute internal audits and recognize deviations.
  4. Work with Production Managers and other management to resolve any quality complaints or internal issues.
  5. Complete HAACP/PCQI verification and reviews for all areas of facility.
  6. Inspect facilities for compliance with standards, determining methods to resolve any issues that arise.
  7. Conduct training meetings when required for all appropriate employees. Ensures training register are up-to-date and available for review by leadership or external auditors.

Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as required
  • All employees are responsible to uphold the principles of BRC as well as customer requirements.
Requirements:

Background/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Service or equivalent
  • HACCP/PCQI Certification required.
  • Familiar with FDA labeling policies and processing requirements required.
  • Cleaning and sanitation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of product, process, sampling and product standards.
  • Working knowledge of GFSI audit schemes, HACCP, FSMA, SSOPs and GMPs.
  • Basic mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • English/Spanish Bi-lingual preferred

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing environment with varying temperatures (coolers, ovens, production floor).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. when handling parts or supplies.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods as required.
